The LA KISS came into their Sunday night home game sitting at 2-4. Looking to rebound from the previous three losses. The Game was televised on National Television via ESPN2. Apparently the team did not come to play. Spokane Shock 4-2 started early. Scoring the first four touchdowns of the night to take a commanding 28-0 lead. Shock QB Meyer the reigning 2013 AFL MVP was taken out of the game suffering a shoulder injury midway thru the second quarter and would not return. The Shock not having a second QB available turned to wide receiver Rashaad Carter to run the offense. Meyer finished with 10-17 pass attempts for 89 yards and two touchdowns and rushed three times for six yards and two touchdowns.
The LA KISS finally found some momentum late in the second quarter they would score back to back touchdowns. A short pass from JJ Raternik to Samie Parker and a missed field goal returned for a score by AJ Cruz would cut the lead to 28-14 Shock. The Shock however would score again twice with time running out in the first half to again increase their lead to 42-14 at halftime.LA began the second half of the game scoring what would be the final score for them a 16 yard touchdown pass from Raternik to Donovan Morgan to put the score 42-21 in favor of the Shock. The Shock led by a series of defensive plays and four Carter touchdowns would seal the deal for Spokane with a 70-21 win over LA.
The LA KISS was handed the worse beating in the team’s infancy. And the head coach
Bob McMillen is looking to make some changes.
“A lot of those guys in the locker room probably won’t be here,” McMillen said after the team’s 70-21 loss to Spokane (5-2)
. “The bleeding is going to stop on Monday.”
“We’re the worst offense in the league right now. Two and five is not going to get it done for us. Putting up 30 points or whatever is not going to get it done for us,” McMillen said. ““We have a whole lot of soul searching and a lot of questions we have to answer as a football team.”
Coach McMillen even went as far as giving out his email bob@lakissfootball.com
Looking for any players with experience for any position to apply.
The LA KISS next game is on the road as the team travels to take on the Cleveland Gladiator May 10th 2014..
